2022 Fireplace Design Ideas By Candice Olson

Make the fireplace a dramatic feature, whether your style is contemporary, classic or full on glam. Take a look through Candice Olson's best fireplace designs. I hope you like it ....

A soaring stone fireplace is an impressive and rustic focal point in this living room. To reduce the scale of the stone and add interest, a long mirror is placed above the mantel. Candice also uses the fireplace as a jumping off point for the room's palette, by selecting the hues of sage, stone, taupe and caramel from the fireplace stones.

A sleek stainless steel gas fireplace is installed at the perfect height to enjoy from anywhere in the space. Surrounded by a beautiful stone facade, the fireplace is the perfect combination of contemporary and natural.

Paint the wall over the mantel the same color as the surround to give a fireplace more presence in a room. When a fireplace is flush with the floor, place a beautiful screen in front to provide ambience and safety.

Floor to ceiling glass and marble mosaic tiles in brown, gold, cream and grey tones are a spectacular setting for an elevated gas fireplace. The contemporary focal point adds both visual and physical warmth to the room.

Sophisticated moldings are combined with a marble tiled surround for a traditional fireplace. To allow the space to be a conversational area as well as a space to watch television, Candice hides a television behind a piece of remote-controlled artwork so it's out of sight when not in use.

A simply elegant fireplace surround is painted cream to offset the dark wallpaper in the dining room. Raised off the floor, the visual warmth of the fireplace can be enjoyed from each seat around the table. The fireplace is also flanked with mirrored panels that add depth and dimension, as well as reflect light into the room.

The show stopping feature wall is a modern arrangement that boasts a long, linear gas fireplace and a massive surround of grey and white marble mosaic tiles. Not only is it eye-catching, but it brings much needed warmth into the space. The fireplace is flanked with a custom-built cabinetry unit that holds a big screen television, media equipment, books and some display items.

A true glam centerpiece of the room the fireplace surround is covered with silver dollar sized stainless steel tiles and above the mantel is a glittering ebony quartz.

The fireplace, which features a wood mantel and is clad in a beautiful circular glass tiles, anchors the room. Traditional beadboard panels above the fireplace add texture.

New 2022 Cozy Fireplaces To Warm Up Your Living Room

A fireplace is the focal point of any living room. Whether you prefer a stone surround or something more modern, these fireplaces prove that a striking design is all it takes to become center stage in these stylish spaces.

Designer Sarah Richardson created a living room that's just as warm as her fireplace by integrating splashes of burnt orange, apricot, garnet and other rich colors among a neutral color palette. The fireplace and surround made of white-washed stone and timeworn materials are meant to stand out among Sarah's rich color scheme, thanks to an extra-large vintage crest mounted above the mantel. The wood-burning fireplace adds to the rustic, at home feel of the farmhouse that makes the living room feel so welcoming.

The Neofocus from Euroflues is a single-unit steel fireplace that comes in a wood-burning version or as a remote-controlled gas unit. Both are set in the wall and make linear rectangular statements. The gas version is fit with ceramic pebbles of various sizes or ceramic logs. It is installed with protective masonry around the firebox and upper and lower air vents. Image courtesy of Euroflues

It is as sleek and slim as a flat screen television with a linear, boldly contemporary presence. It has been described as "a fireplace with a sculptural presence, without a hint of pretension." The fireplace is thermal efficient, and its flame sits behind a heat resistant glass door that allows a complete view of what's inside. Image courtesy of Euroflues

This fireplace from Spark Modern Fires combines a thoroughly utilitarian idea with contemporary artistic grace. The slim, eye level gas fireplace hangs on the wall and is made of brushed stainless steel with a single ceramic glass panel. It is clean, easily maintained and a breeze to install. In an cold-weather environment like Stowe, Vt., designer Linda Woodrum knew the fireplace would be used quite often, so she undoubtedly made it the centerpiece of the gathering room in HGTV Dream Home 2022. This energy efficient gas fireplace offers the convenience of a preset thermostat with its sleek stainless steel design. To complement the maple flooring and pull in a taste of the outdoors, Linda added birch panels to the fireplace chase and a three-dimensional, steel wall sculpture with midcentury designs in mind.

Gas-fed hearths are easy, clean and versatile. The three-foot, vent-free fireplace by Spark Modern Fires is creatively built into the living room bookcase. The unit shares a metal front with a television, creating a cozy, multiuse living space. It can be fitted with a stainless steel interior to add reflectiveness.

The beauty of this fireplace is its freedom. It easily mounts on the floor, sitting on a base of masonry or black steel, and it can be installed in almost any room. The gas flame is visible from every direction, set behind a band of glass panels that slide around the fireplace's metal trunk. The designer drew inspiration from the open space and clean lines of Japanese interiors.

Fireplaces provide far more than heat and a cozy place to curl up. They can fulfill architectural roles and become artistic accouterments. This fireplace serves as a sophisticated room divider, and it demands attention. The gas-fed flames rise out of a bed of shiny river rock set on a four foot long firescape. It is mounted below an upside down chimney in this home's living room.

Designer Brian Patrick Flynn certainly knows how to make a natural stone surround stand out in a beautiful way he used patterned fabric against the back wall as a stunning accent to the aubergine mantelpiece. Among a sea of modern furnishings and purple accents, the rustic stone fireplace seems so natural and at ease.

2022 Fast and Easy Living Room Furniture Arrangement Ideas

Looking for an Easy Update?
Rearrange your furniture! It's fast, free, and easy, and will make your living room feel like new. Daunted by the prospect? Don't be. With these tips, you'll be arranging like a pro in no time.

You'll love these ideas to try in 2022! I hope you find these ideas useful and inspiring to you .... Enjoy it !!!!

Arrange for Face to Face Conversation : Arranging the seating pieces to face each other over a shared coffee table makes conversation easy, and the table keeps drinks in easy reach.

Divide the Room with Furniture : Divide a large living/dining space into separate zones with furniture placement. A sofa facing away from the dining room defines the conversation area from the rest of this open layout.

Seat Four with Chairs : If you don't have room for the usual sofas and love seats, four comfy chairs will serve as well or perhaps better. In this clean, crisp setting, matching white slipcovered chairs define an orderly, compact, yet welcoming seating group.

Pull Furnishings Together with a Rug : Use a large area rug to unify a seating group within a larger space. If the rug isn't large enough to contain all of the seating pieces, make sure that those farthest from the wall are solidly anchored on the "island."

Enlarge the Space with Diagonals : Placing the furniture diagonally gives a boxy room some flavor. The diagonal also creates a welcoming pathway into the seating group. Use the sofa and coffee table to establish the diagonal axis and arrange additional seating on the same axis. To subtly anchor the seating group to the room's architecture, align the area rug with the fireplace wall.

Make Space for Lounging : In living rooms where lounging and TV-watching are the main activities, a sectional sofa offers flexible, comfortable seating. Sectionals come in a variety of units, from armless chairs to love seats, ottomans, and chaises that you can combine to fit your space. The sofa in this living room is oriented toward the TV (not shown) and the extra seating is lightweight and can be easily rearranged to face the TV.

Divide Large Spaces with Seating : If your living room is the setting for large parties, bring intimacy and a comfortable sense of scale to the room by dividing it into two conversational groupings with a path between them. Placing one sofa with its back to this path underscores the separation between the two groups, as do the area rugs anchoring them.

Focus on the View : An effective room arrangement starts with the focal point, the cornerstone of your living room design. Typically a fireplace plays this role, but in this contemporary cottage space, the view out the French doors takes center stage instead. Orient the main seating piece toward the focal point and arrange the secondary seating pieces around the main piece. In winter, the room could be rearranged to focus on the fireplace.

Create Order with Symmetry : Pairs of matching sofas, side tables, and lamps strike a perfect balance on each side of the fireplace in this contemporary living room. Symmetry imposes a sense of order on the space.

Create Activity Zones : In a large, open room, use furniture arrangement to divide the space into different activity zones. Here a table and chairs gather on one side of the room, providing a spot for informal meals or games. In the center of the room, a sofa, chairs, and ottoman form a conversational cluster anchored by a rug.

Use Chairs Instead of Sofas : In a small living room, create a sense of greater space and openness with a collection of chairs instead of using sofas or love seats. The scale of these armchairs suits the smaller living room.

Set Aside a Sunny Corner : A pair of chairs with a set of stools converts this well-lit corner into a cozy spot for two. Whether you entertain large groups or small ones, providing guests with paired seating helps ensure that everyone will have at least one conversational partner.

Arrange in an L Shape : In this large living room, a sofa and a love seat form an L framing a large coffee table. This simple arrangement provides a convenient conversational cluster. A single chair at the other side of this group can easily be moved closer to the conversation grouping.

Create Quiet Spot in a Bay : Turn a bay window into a quiet spot for two with a pair of comfortable chairs and an ottoman. Provide the chairs with a table and lamp so you'll have light for reading and a place to rest a cup of tea.

Snuggle Up to the Fireplace : The fireplace is the natural focal point of a living room. Flank each side with seating, whether it's two sofa or a sofa and pair fo chairs, and place a large coffee table in the middle.

Offer Casual Seating : If you're more likely to lounge in front of the fireplace than sit on a sofa, keep a supply of oversize floor pillows and ottomans on hand. Ottomans can move where you need them for seating, or they can stand in as side tables.

While a crisp black and white palette grounds this family room in sophistication, fearless sprinkles of lime green (prompted by painting the back of the built in bookshelves) make the gathering spot fun and inviting. Neutral furniture also helps keep the space feeling open and inviting.

Minimal accessories ensure the space doesnat look cluttered and cramped.

2022 DIY Fast and Easy Home Decorating Projects Ideas

These easy crafts and decor projects will give your home standout style.

You'll love these ideas to try in 2022! I hope you find these ideas useful and inspiring to you .... Enjoy it !!!!

Framed Up : Even if the art inside a frame isn't your style, a pretty frame is still a secondhand score. Round up a series of pretty frames, remove the art, spray paint them in a unifying color scheme, and arrange them on a wall.

Painted Vases : While one paint color is good, two are even better. Add in some glitter and you have a knock-out DIY project. Paint the outside of jars and glass containers with two coats of clay paint. We mixed several shades of pink with white to create a range of hues. For a touch of glam, mask off the top of the jar with painter's tape and cover the bottom with glitter spray paint.

Be-Ribboned Lampshade : DIY projects don't come any easier than this. Cut ribbons to fit around a lampshade and tie the ends in a knot to secure. For extra stability, secure the ribbons with a few dots of hot glue.

Lace-Patterned Vase : Try a reversed pattern for something a little different. Wrap a wide scrap of lace around a clear glass vase to create this reversed effect. Use spray adhesive to affix the lace to the glass, then spray the glass evenly with white spray paint. Let it dry, the remove the lace to reveal the see through pattern.

Pretty Table Runner : Pink and orange are great for a warm, romantic look. Cover a bright table runner with a sheer sari to tone down the design.

Doodled Teapot : Dress up a plain teapot by doodling on designs. Draw your doodle on white paper and cut the piece of paper down to size (so that you can lay it over the item you'll be tracing the design onto). Cut a piece of transfer paper slightly larger than the area to be doodled, and tape it to the surface. Tape the pattern over the transfer paper. Using a pencil, firmly trace the pattern lines to transfer the design to the surface. Remove the pattern and the transfer paper. Using a paint pen, trace the lines and let dry. Cure the paint by baking the piece in the oven, following the manufacturer's instructions.

Table Skirt : Hide the base of an old side table with a fabric skirt. Cut a piece of fabric to the diameter and height of the table, leaving extra for a hem allowance. Hem the fabric. Use hook-and-eye tape to attach the hemmed fabric to the edge of the table.

Picture Frame to Serving Tray : Reuse an old picture frame as a practical serving tray. Remove the glass of a large frame. Paint the frame in your desired color. Attach drawer pulls to the short sides of the frame. Insert the glass with a piece of pretty fabric or decorative paper behind it.

Decoupage Design Tabletop : Decoupage a lovely design on a thrift store table. Paint the table with two coats of metallic paint. Cover with metallic glaze for extra shine. Let dry. Cut a scrap of wallpaper to cover the tabletop. Coat the top with decoupage glue. Position the paper, pressing carefully to remove any air bubbles. Cover with multiple layers of glue. Let each coat dry before applying the next. Finish with a spray sealant.

Fireplace Screen : Create an easy screen to mask your fireplace or any space when it's not in use. This bold geometric print pops in front of the white fireplace and mantel.

Here's how to make it: Cut four pieces of 1/2-inch-thick particleboard to your desired size. (The screen's size depends on what you want it to cover. This fireplace is 32 inches wide; the screen is made from four 12x36-inch boards, which came precut from a home improvement store). Use interior latex paint to coat the boards in a color that complements your wallpaper (here, black). Cut strips of wallpaper 2 inches wider and longer than the particleboard. Apply a light layer of spray adhesive to one side of the board and to the back of the wallpaper. Press the adhesive side of the paper onto the adhesive side of the board. Start at the top middle and work your way down, smoothing air bubbles as you go. Wrap the excess around to the back and secure. Repeat for the other boards. Let the boards dry. Use superglue to affix small hinges to connect the boards on the painted side. Move the screen before you start a fire; this screen is for decorative purposes only.

Patchwork Shower Curtain : Brighten early mornings with warm colors in a pieced-together shower curtain. Make this uncomplicated project for the bathroom.

Floral Stenciled Dresser : Nondescript wood dressers can often be found for rock-bottom prices at garage sales. To give them a dose of character and contemporary style, cover the top in color and embellish the fronts with stencils. Removing drawers in favor of lined and labeled baskets is another easy way to add color and charm.

Stylish Hand Towels : Make plain hand towels stylish. Embroider fabric dots on the front. Or, add a hemmed border along the bottom. Topstitch ribbon over the seam.
